Description

Online newsprint specialists Print on Paper are teaming up with print curators People of Print to bring you the Folio Zine Awards 2017.

The Folio Zine Awards 2017 is a competition that will see entrants design and upload a portfolio in the format of Print on Paper’s Paper Zine. The Paper Zine is an A3 sheet folded twice to make an A5 booklet, made up of five pages (four A5 pages, one A3 page overleaf).

A panel of expert judges made up of industry professionals plus Print on Paper & People of Print themselves will judge the competition, with the winners to be announced at an event at the end of October.

Prizes include vouchers for Print on Paper, a one-year subscription to Posterzine[Symbol], and a People of Print book. The value of the vouchers is £100, £250, and £1,000 for third, second, and first prize respectively. The winner will also see their work featured in Print on Paper sample packs, sent to hundreds of business and individuals every month.

The judges are: Alex Econs, (founder of Everpress and ICON Printing), Anthony Sheret & Edd Harrington (founders of Colophon), Bryony Lloyd (managing director at Antenne Books), Professor Lawrence Zeegen (Dean of the School of Design at Ravensbourne in London), Roderick Mills (multiple award-winning artist, illustrator, educator, writer and curator). More comprehensive biographies are listed within the competition page listed below.
