2021 Emerging Travel Photographers' Prize

Award-winning literary travel magazine Nowhere is accepting submissions for our inaugural Emerging Travel Photographers’ Prize!

We are looking for never-been-published travel photographers from anywhere in the world to send us collections of images that possess a powerful sense of people, place or time.

Requirements:

• Photographers must never before have been published in the travel genre.
• Submissions must not have been published previously by any media outlet or social-media platform not owned by the photographer.
• Collections must contain at least ten individual images, arranged thematically. Single images will not be considered.
• Landscape-oriented images must be able to be sized to an aspect ratio constrained to 1500 pixels wide. Portrait-oriented images must be able to be constrained to 1000 pixels wide.
• Please be sure your title is crafted with intent and does not merely describe the images (e.g., no “Photos from Cuba”).
• Please include a brief intro (approximately 250 words) that can be published as a preface to your collection. Individual captions are not required, but may be considered.
• Simultaneous submissions are accepted, but please indicate this in your cover letter. If your submission is accepted elsewhere for publication during the contest period, please withdraw your entry.
• Multiple collections from a single photographer, submitted separately, are welcome.
• You may include watermarks on your attachments if you wish; however, they must be removed if your submission is selected for publication.
• Please leave off any identifying information from your attachments—no names, contact information, etc. Every submission will be reviewed anonymously, so anyone can win!

The winner will receive US$500, with publication in Nowhere granted under First North American Serial Rights (FNASR). Up to ten finalists also will be published.

Dust off your slides (okay, digital archives) or shoot something new and send it to the only literary travel magazine going! The contest deadline is 11:59 p.m. EST on February 28, 2021.
