Central to Cradle to Cradle® as a design framework is eliminating the concept of "waste" by designing products using safe materials that can be perpetually cycled. Effectively implementing this design principle can have a significant impact on the environment, communities, and the economy.
This round shines shine a spotlight on Cradle to Cradle Certified™ Materials and Autodesk Fusion 360's sustainable design capabilities!

Your design submission must comply with the following requirements:
- Composed using the English language
- Follow the specified format, with section numbers and headings as detailed below
- Packaged as a single PDF document (not to exceed 5 pages and 10 MB)
- Provide at least 1 high-resolution image of the product (submitted in the online form)
- Submitted online by the deadline.

The Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute is an independent, non-profit that oversees the Cradle to Cradle Certified(CM) Products Program worldwide. 

Description

Designers have a critical role to play by envisioning products made with safe materials that can be perpetually cycled, and that eliminate the concept of "waste". The Cradle to Cradle Product Design Challenge enables current, emerging, and future designers to learn and apply critical strategies for envisioning products for the circular economy, powered by Cradle to Cradle Certified™.

Entries for DC6 are invited across four categories:

  • Best Overall Project 
  • Best Use of Cradle to Cradle Certified™ Material
  • Best Use of Autodesk Fusion 360 
  • Best Use of Aluminum


Step 1:
 Register for our online course to learn principles, strategies, and real world examples for designing products for a circular, regenerative future.

Step 2: Explore the materials in the Cradle to Cradle Certified™ Product Registry, learn how Autodesk Fusion 360 can power your sustainable design practice, engage with leading innovative C2C Certified brands, and find tips for taking your circular design to the next level. Get more information and inspiration here. 

Step 3: Develop an innovative product and product system that incorporate regenerative principles and strategies, and use safe materials that can be perpetually cycled. Find out more here.

The program is presented by the Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute in partnership with Autodesk, and made possible by Arconic Foundation, both world leaders in leveraging design for growing a sustainable future.
