Description
The weary traveler isn’t looking for just any place to lay their head; hotel guests today are more tech-savvy, design-aware and sensitive to their surroundings than ever before. What would make their stay more comfortable? Let your imagination run wild and design the hotel stay of the future by demonstrating innovation in guest experience (comfort, entertainment and information) integrating at least 3 innovative appliances (can be ideas, projects or products currently on FirstBuild, or brand new concepts).
Key focus areas could include cooking, refrigeration, cleaning, guest convenience, entertainment, lighting, acoustics and air/water conditioning.
DESIGN REQUIREMENTS
Your concept must:
- Fit within the footprint/ dimensions of the given room
- Preserve common expectations of a hotel room, including areas for sleep, work and relaxing (though not necessarily in current configuration)
- Preserve bed and mattress size as listed in provided room layout.
- Be applicable to specific room but scalable and flexible to other room configurations.
Include at least 3 appliance concepts with:
- A description of how these would work, and why they are important to traveler
- A rendering of each as they would appear in the room/ within the floorplan.
Technology and concepts must be developable using materials and processes available within 1-2 years.
