Kraft association therefore develops artistic and cultural projects that combine, value and confront visual arts, urban cultures, design, architecture ... It explores current productions (their stakes, their references, their affiliation, their implications ...). The aim is to stimulate cooperation and collaboration between artists from different universes, to take into consideration the development of spontaneous movements that are often transversal and not exclusively artistic.
Description
The competition aims to create at least 6 cabins that will be installed during spring 2019 in emblematic sites of the Chaîne des Parcs area.
The cabin will operate autonomously and will be inspired by its location. Its function is as a public installation rather than as a shelter or habitat
The ‘cabin’ is here conceived as a structure that gives the walker, the tourist, or the user the opportunity to appropriate the landscape, to observe nature, to play, to rest, to meet, to interact or even to experiment. It must be an attraction that encourages the discovery of the parks.
Maximum cabin dimensions : less than 20 m2 of footprint.
Materials : eco-construction (choice of recyclable materials, local materials, promotion of local know-how, bio-sourced materials...).
Conception: projects may be new or otherwise, or even already completed.
Production : projects can be prefabricated and installed on site or built during an on-site residence.
The cabins will be set up for minimum of 5 months and, preferabily, until the end of 2020 (with a potential exposure during the «Lille Métropole, World Capital of Design” event in 2020). In the case of specific agreement with the designers and if allowed to, the cabins could stay on site even longer.
PRIZES : A maximum of €5500 for the construction of each of the winning cabins + A maximum of €1500 for expenses.
