NYC4PA Call for Entry - ONE

Description

This is a call for entry open to all photographers no matter experience or location.  25 Winners are givien an exhibition in a New York City gallery, 10 receive cash prizes, all are on our website gallery and in our exhibition catalog.  Cost is $35/3 plus $10 for each additional image.

The New York Center for Photographic Art (NYC4PA) invites photographers world-wide to submit images using any photographic process (print, image transfer, emulsion transfer, encaustic, black and white, etc.). Prizes include $3,000 in cash awards, a New York Gallery Exhibition and images in both the NYC4PA Online Gallery and in the ONE 2017 catalog.
Cash Prize Winners and Juror’s Selections will have the opportunity to participate in a gallery show, April 3 - 14, 2018 at the JADITE GALLERY in the exciting Hell’s Kitchen area in Manhattan. The Grand Prize winning image will be posted on the NYC4PA home page.

Remember the Three Dog Night song "One is the Loneliest Number" but is it? In this call we are looking for those images with a single compelling focal point. It could be a person or thing that is alone in the frame or an element of a large grouping that clearly stands out. A lot filled with blue cars with a single bright red one would fit the bill as would a portrait reminiscent of Andrew Wyeth's "Christina's World", and the six foot tall teacher surrounded by his or her grade school class. Selective focus can isolate a single horse from the herd or a single pedestrian from the crowd on a city street. What about that basketball player leaping in the air for a dunk shot or the prematurely leafless tree amidst a forest of foliage? Once again the possibilities are endless out there - let's see how you capture them.
