Call for projects organizer
The mission of the New York Center for Photographic Art is to provide exhibition opportunities in the vibrant New York City gallery world to photographers around the globe, and to take photographers around the globe for exciting photo opportunities.
Description
The New York Center for Photographic Arts (NYC4PA) invites photographers world-wide to submit images using any photographic process (print, image transfer, Iphone, emulsion transfer, encaustic, black and white, color etc.). Winners will receive $4,000 in cash awards and be featured in the NYC4PA Online Gallery. The Grand Prize winning image will be posted on the NYC4PA home page.
This, our mid winter call, is a little different from most of our others. We will still have a wonderful juror, great cash prizes, an online gallery and a winners’ catalog. However cash awards will be larger in lieu of the gallery show we usually produce for Prize Winners and Juror Selections.
PORTALS:
There was a popular and silly song in the 1950's, "Close the Doors, They're Coming in the Windows". What about those doors and windows and arches and frames and tunnels? There are so many ways to capture them: looking at them, or through them. We can poke our hand out the window to test the weather, or just see a wonderful scene a little differently when framed by an arch or array of tree limbs in a park.
For this call your images can focus on the "portal" itself like a closed door or a wonderful windowsill or the view through the portal to the other side. Does it frame the main subject of the photograph or does it add another dimension, such as the distortions of old glass or reflections in windowpanes.
Once again we invite you to be creative and have fun in the process.
