L’une des cinq Académies composant l’Institut de France, l’Académie des beaux-arts encourage la création artistique dans toutes ses expressions et veille à la défense du patrimoine culturel français. Elle poursuit ses missions de soutien à la création par l’organisation de concours, l’attribution de prix, le financement de résidences d’artistes et l’octroi de subventions à des projets et manifestations de nature artistique en France et à l’étranger. Constituée autour de l’idée de pluridisciplinarité, la Compagnie réunit cinquante-neuf membres répartis au sein de huit sections artistiques, seize associés étrangers et cinquante-neuf correspondants.

General informationThe Mario Avati-Académie des beaux-arts Award was created in 2013 under the auspices of the Académie des beaux-arts in honor of printmaker Mario Avati, thanks to a Helen and Mario Avati donation and CAF America partnership.
The Prize rewards the work of a confirmed artist of any nationality using traditional printmaking techniques such as intaglio, woodcut, lithography, serigraphy and monotype.
The winner will be awarded a cash prize equivalent in value to US $ 40,000.
Timetable

July 27th, 2023 : Deadline for submission of entries.
No applications will be accepted after this date.
September, 2023 : Preselection of candidates, meeting of the jury and proclamation of the recipient of the Mario Avati-Académie des beaux-arts Printmaking Award
November 15th, 2023 : The Prize is awarded under the dome of the Institut de France
June, 2024 : Exhibition of the prize-winner at the Pavillon Comtesse de Caen de l’Institut de France, Paris (dates to be confirmed)
