The Curated Fridge - Winter 2018 Show
Call for projects organizer
The idea behind this project is to celebrate fine art photography and connect photographers from around the world. There is a guest curator for every quarterly show, ranging from museum curators, to gallerists and artists!
Description
- Theme:
Open call, no theme.
- Deadline:
Saturday, January 6, 2018 (postmarked mail)
Because of the holiday season, please plan accordingly and mail your prints ahead of time! Feel free to send Season's Greetings cards too!
- Guidelines:
* Open to all photographers world wide, both amateur and professional. All mediums are invited. Previous participants are welcome to apply again. If your work was accepted in any of the 2017 shows, please submit files from a different body of work.
* You can submit up to 5 images. As usual, the submission is FREE!
* Submitted prints should not be bigger than 5x7” or 6x6".
* Try to avoid type if sending promo cards.
* If you send original artwork, please sign it on the back and specifically mention that it's for The Curated Fridge. All the original artwork will be saved after each Fridge Show. No artwork will be returned. By sending original artwork, you agree to all the above.
* Accepted images will be posted on The Curated Fridge website and social media.

- Additionally, email the jpgs of the submitted files to: thecuratedfridge@gmail.com
* Image specifications: 1280 on the longest side, 72 ppi, sRGB, .jpg
* Name your jpgs like this: Mary_Jones_1, Mary_Jones_2 etc...
* Please, do not send .zip files
* Finally, include a link to your website (if any).
Again, you have to mail your prints AND email the jpgs. The curator will be judging your images by printing quality and will be installing the show on the fridge. The jpgs will be used for promoting your work on the website and social media.
If printing is not your selling point or you think that your prints won't make it on time because you live outside the U.S., you can use a printing company (Shutterfly, Mpix etc). They are very cheap, fast and reliable.

J. Sybylla SMITH
The new Refrigecurator, for the Winter 2018 Show, is J. Sybylla Smith, independent curator, teacher and consultant! Part artist, part academic, J. Sybylla Smith is equally compelled to create art as to examine its cultural significance.
Her diverse resume reflects over 25 years of curating fine art photography exhibitions with international photographers, bringing advertising campaigns and fashion editorials to fruition, and developing and teaching university curriculum, Concept Aware™, on creativity and concept development.
Her collaborations have led to lasting relationships with renowned galleries, museums, art fairs, advertising agencies, and international print publications. Smith’s current practice focuses on developing creative content for individual clients and organizations as a curator, portfolio reviewer/creator, editor, brand developer, educator and speaker.
