The One Club exists to champion and promote excellence in advertising and design in all its forms. It is the world's foremost non-profit organization devoted to elevating creative work in the industry. It seeks to celebrate the legacy of creative advertising and to use that legacy to inspire future generations. The One Club is the 'keeper of the flame' for advertising creatives.

Description

The One Club for Creativity, the world's foremost non-profit organization recognizing creative excellence in advertising and design formed from the merger of the Art Directors Club (ADC) and The One Club, has opened the call for entries for Young Guns 15, celebrating international creative professionals age 30 or younger.

Young Guns, open to both members and nonmembers of The One Club and ADC, is the industry’s only international, cross-disciplinary, portfolio-based awards competition that identifies and celebrates today’s vanguard of young creatives.

The program is open to creatives age 30 and under who have been working for at least two years, full-time or freelance. Eligible entrants can submit a combination of professional and personal work in graphic design; advertising art direction and copywriting; architectural, environmental and interior design; industrial and product design; digital (UX/UI, experiential design, interactive, web design, apps, game development): film and animation (motion design, television, video); fashion; typography and lettering; illustration and photography.

All Young Guns 15

Winners will receive a unique version of the iconic Young Guns Cube, designed exclusively for this year’s incoming class, and have their permanent profile page added to the Young Guns website. Winners also receive a complimentary one-year ADC/One Club membership, permanent membership in the Young Guns network, a chance to be featured in Young Guns events and an assortment of career-boosting opportunities from Young Guns sponsors.

Established by the Art Directors Club in 1996, this represents the first year Young Guns is part of The One Club for Creativity (TOCC). Formed last fall from the merger of The One Club and ADC, TOCC serves as the umbrella organization for The One Show, ADC Annual Awards, Young Guns, Creative Week, One Screen, Hall of Fame and nearly two dozen other successful global programs that fall under four key pillars: education, inclusion and diversity, professional development and gender equality.

Young Guns 15 and other TOCC activities are made possible in part through the generous support of sponsors including Shutterstock and Levine/Leavitt.

Over the years, Young Guns winners have come from a wide variety of creative disciplines. While Young Guns 15 is open to almost every category of creative professional, we hope that by listing the following disciplines of past winners, you'll be able to see more clearly that this competition is right for you and your talents.

  • Advertising, Art Direction & Copywriting : Madison Avenue is your sandbox, allowing you to bring together painstakingly crafted art and breathtaking copy to sell everything from cola to cultural revolution.
  • Architecture, Environmental & Interior Design : "If you build it, they will come." Whether you've designed a building, transformed its insides or perfected the land on which it sits, this discipline favors large scale thinking and execution.
  • Digital : 'Digital' has grown to become way more than just websites. Rather than paints and inks, your palette contains ones and zeroes, with digital creations both functional and fantastical.
  • Fashion : The human body is a canvas, and your creations are the medium that helps it shine, from the runway to retail.
  • Film & Animation : Lights! Camera! Action! You are a master of the moving image, whether they're provocative documentaries, emotional web shorts or engrossing CGI animated stories.
  • Graphic Design : From logos to layouts, from branding to book design, from posters to packaging and everything in between, your skills at visual communication are above reproach.
  • Illustration : Back in kindergarten, everybody loved to draw. For you, however, that love never left. Today you lend your skills to posters, to magazine editorials, to branding and so, so much more.
  • Industrial & Product Design : It's one thing to create an image, but creating a mass-produced object of impeccable form and function is a whole new challenge, one that you live and live to tackle.
  • Photography : From film to digital, from black and white to full color, from fashion to food, you are most at home behind the camera, capturing still images that engage your audience.
  • Typography & Lettering : The letterforms of the alphabet are your passion, whether they flow from your pen as beautiful calligraphy, or are meticulously crafted as typesets and fonts for others to use.
  • Other : Does your creative forté lie beyond these disciplines? Not to worry, there may still be a place for you among the Young Guns community! Past winners have included a sound designer, street artists, and a renowned food designer. So don't be afraid of the "other" option — it just might be what sets you apart from the rest.
