START è un progetto per la promozione e la diffusione della cultura architettonica. Il nostro obiettivo è offrire a giovani professionisti informazioni continue sul panorama architettonico globale, le news, offrendo loro la possibilità di mettere in mostra il proprio sapere, i contest. Il portale è un luogo di incontro multidisciplinare, per condividere idee, progetti, visioni e analisi, senza limiti di città o territorio. Alla base dell’architettura c’è la ricerca, è questo il posto per condividerla.
Description
IL TEMA:Firenze è la capitale del Rinascimento, non c’è angolo della città in cui non si respiri classicismo. La cupola del Brunelleschi è il simbolo riconosciuto del capoluogo toscano, ma sono innumerevoli gli edifici di grande valore architettonico che caratterizzano il centro storico. L’impianto urbano, fortemente legato alla propria radice storica, registra pochi episodi a favore di contemporaneità, un bisogno di attualità al quale Firenze, non può sottrarsi rendendo gli spazi irrisolti un interessante opportunità di sviluppo. Largo Pietro Annigoni, al limite del centro storico entro le mura, è un interno urbano giunto pochi anni fa’ all’attuale configurazione che offre interessanti spunti di riflessione.
Il mercato ottocentesco di Sant’Ambrogio, le sedi didattiche del Dipartimento (ex-Facoltà) di Architettura, l’Archivio di Stato ed il recente intervento delle Murate, sono alcuni dei luoghi d’interesse che circondano il sito. È necessario riflettere sull’opportunità di creare un nuovo polo per la comunità, un ambito che favorisca l’interazione tra residenti, turisti e studenti. Il Florence Cultural Centre, spazio per mostre e eventi, dovrà incarnare questa aspirazione diventando uno tra i principali luoghi d’interesse della città.
