Established in May, 2010, A Smith Gallery is located in Johnson City, Texas in the Nugent Avenue Arts District. The gallery exhibits the work of both amateur and professional photographers through juried and invitational exhibitions. Amanda Smith and Kevin Tully are the Gallery Directors. Izzie and WeeGee are the gallery cats.

black/white: charcoal/snowy, onyx/ivory, pitch/clear, ebony/alabaster, coal/pearly ....
Photographers of all levels are invited to submit work reflecting the theme "black/white" to A Smith Gallery by November 27, 2018. Entries of 11 or more images are entitled to a review of submitted entry images by the gallery directors. The entry fee is $38 for the first 5 images and $7 for each additional image. Fifty to fifty five images will be selected for exhibition and shown at the gallery from January 11 to February 17, 2019. A reception will be held on January 26, 2019 from 4 to 8pm. A Blurb full color catalogue of the exhibit with all the accepted entries will be available for purchase. Awards are $325 for Juror’s Award, $250 for Director’s Award, three Juror Honorable Mentions each receiving an exhibition catalogue, discretionary Director Honorable Mentions each receiving an exhibition catalogue and $100 for Visitors’ Award.
Juror for "black/white" will be Jennifer Schlesinger, artist and owner/director Obscura Gallery in Santa Fe.
