The C2A is organized by the Farmani Group, a leading organization curating and promoting photography, design and architecture across the globe since 1985. The company’s key mission is to discover and promote talent in these areas, through competitions, awards, exhibitions, developing artist communities, providing networking opportunities, and education.

Description

The Creative Communication Award is pleased to launch its third edition, inviting professional and student creatives from all around the world to submit their most innovative and compelling designs for consideration in this prestigious competition.

C2A is on a mission to promote creativity and reward designers and creative thinkers for all the hard work and skill they put into their projects. Their stories — whether told through graphics or through words, whether still or moving, digital or analogue — matter, they are important, and they deserve to be honored, shared and celebrated.

This international award program is a promotional platform for communication designers, agencies, graphic designers, freelancers, digital media designers, and for the world-wide creative community. Created by the Farmani Group in 2019 as the sister initiative of the IDA International Design Awards, the C2A was born as a result of recognizing the need for a program dedicated to discovering and awarding excellence in Communication Design, on an international level.

Hossein Farmani, C2A’s President and Founder of the Farmani Group, commented, “Each year, we see stunning talent and creativity from entrants, who pour their hearts into their work. The winners of the 2020 edition of C2A have shared some incredible projects, reminding us of the power of inspirational creative communication, even in difficult times. They use creative communication to share ideas and build communities, to educate, sell, or inform, and to always evoke an emotional response in their audience, and for that we are grateful.”

A stellar international jury will evaluate entries based not only on the highest of current design standards and trends, but also seek out truly extraordinary designers who are producing coveted, exceptional creations.

Creatives selected by our renowned jurors receive extensive public showcasing of their designs to an international audience, a certificate of achievement and winner's logo, are featured in the online gallery exhibition and in the Book of Creative Communication, among other benefits.

The Early Bird deadline is April 15, 2021. Submission entered by this date will receive a 20% discount on submission fees. The regular submission deadline is August 15, 2021.

Min LU
Min Lu is an award-winning artist with a focus on graphic design, art direction and branding. Her works have garnered recognition and exhibited internationally. Having background in both fine arts and marketing has profoundly affected the artworks that she created. She devoted her time in exploring and uncovering brand and consumer insights from a sea of data to inform creative direction and ultimately help businesses connect with people in meaningful ways. Min has extensive experience working with multidisciplinary cross-functional teams, creating successful initiatives for global companies and making creative concepts and ideas shine on media platforms. Min’s mission is to continually inspire, provoke and serve the creative industry by creating game-changing ideas that shape the future of advertising.
Anna GOODSON
President and Founder of Anna Goodson Illustration Agency, Anna Goodson has been skating ahead of the curve for almost 25 years. A leading international illustration and motion graphics agency, Anna Goodson helps creative thinkers connect with illustration and motion graphics artists so they can transform their ideas into powerful visual content. Anna champions an inclusive, culturally diverse family of fabulously talented humans who create visual content that reflects their own distinct voices and decisive cultural moments. Clients include publications, literary publishers, design firms and advertising agencies around the world. The agency’s recent initiatives include The Creative Pixel Project, a global art initiative and social response to covid-19, and Anna Goodson has sat on the jury for many design competitions.
Hamda AL NAIMI
Hamda Al Naimi (Alnuaimi) is an award-winning multidisciplinary graphic designer who desires to contribute positively to the world through design. Hamda worked at leading agencies in Dubai and San Francisco, such as Google, studio o+a, and Gulf News.

During her childhood, she used visuals to navigate the complexities of learning in school, which led her to fall in love with and appreciate the importance of arts and design. Later in life, that background became her philosophy as a professional designer; one who strives to take the most tangled concepts and present them in the simplest way possible.

Hamda’s work has been recognized by internationally known design competitions. A select list of her awards include Communication Arts, Print, International Design Awards, Ijungle Awards, DNA Paris, and London International Creative Competition. Her projects were also featured in Packaging of the World and Women in Design.
Anton SUPRUNENKO
Anton Suprunenko is a T-shape digital product designer and art-director from Ukraine, with more than 15 years of working experience in cross functional multidisciplinary teams, where his main focus is UX, interaction design and branding. Anton is the winner of Red Dot Design Award 2020.

Anton has a fine arts and computer science background, and was certified by Nielsen Norman Group in the UX Design field.

When he’s got time to spare, Anton teaches design, collects guitars, and explores the world with travel photography.
Debora MANETTI
Debora Manetti, together with Francesco Canovaro and Cosimo Lorenzo Pancini, is founder and creative director of Ligature, a brand focusing on the culture of type design, established in 2001.

Ligature deals with projects related to the world of typography, including Zetafonts.com, a prolific and innovative type foundry based in Florence (Italy); over the years the label Zetafonts has been producing a large portfolio of high-quality retail typefaces and font families: a vast range of innovative and stylish fonts suitable for digital and physical applications; in addition, Zetafonts is called upon to offer typographic consultancy for branding to a selection of major international brands and has designed custom fonts for startups and big companies.

Xi ALICE ZONG
Alice Zong is an award-winning visual designer focusing on Graphic design, Digital Design and Branding, Typography, Packaging, Web, and App Design. Alice has extensive working experience with global creative teams for Fortune 500 companies. Alice is passionate about design, present, and support creative concepts, proficient with Adobe Creative Creative Suite. Worked in a very systematic and diligent manner, and proved to be an independent thinker, a faster learner, and a great team-worker. Alice Zong is dedicated to developing designs and branding with a conviction to quality.
Arvin MALEKI
Arvin Maleki, founder and creative director of Futuredge Design Studio, is the gold winner of A’design and best of the best in digital and electronic devices design 2020. He is the 20th designer of the world in the digital and electronic device category and 32nd designer of the world in the futuristic design category 2020. Also, he is the 731st best designer of world 2020/2021 R+ Designer Rankings and seventh-best designer in Iran based on World Design Rankings.

He has studied computer systems architecture and artificial intelligence and has more than ten books in these fields. Since 2017 he is working in the field of industrial design and has won more than eight prestigious international prizes. As an artificial intelligence expert and computer engineer, he has always tried to solve issues and create particular ideas for topics.

Now he is a member of many proud and prestigious associations and societies. He is the senior partner of World Design Consortium (WDC), Alliance of International Business Associations (AIBA), International Beurau of Service Providers (IBSP), International Society of Product Manufacturers (ISPM), International Council of Creative Industries (ICCI), International Design Club (IDC), International Association of Designers (IAD).
Billy IP
Billy Ip is the Principal, Retail Sector Leader at global architecture firm, Woods Bagot. Billy owns over 15 years of professional experience, starting his career with Ogilvy and Mather in Melbourne where he developed his skills in branding and spatial design.

He gained a wealth of experience in designing lifestyle retail environments and branding architecture throughout Asia, Australia and the Middle East. His passion lies in exploring future retail strategies to devise design solutions that delight and engage retailers, brands and end-users alike. Vertical retail, brand experience and consumer behaviour analysis are his core areas of expertise.

Amongst his personal achievements, his awards include RMIT’s Australia China Alumni Award for the Arts and Creative Industries (2019), Visual Merchandising and Store Design (VMSD) Designer Dozen (2015), Perspective Magazine’s 40 under 40 (2014) and Hong Kong Young Designer Talent Finalist (2012). Additionally, he is a sought-after expert contributor and a keynote speaker to international design and real estate industry forums and conferences throughout Australia and Asia.
Daniel CHENG
Daniel is a Boston native who has been working in marketing and design for 12 years in Shanghai. He is the founder and creative director of the award-winning digital agency Metric Design Studio (MDS). By combining expertise in the digital landscape in China with strong technical skills, MDS is able to fill the void between marketing and design. Their diverse range of clients have spanned
from fashion powerhouses such as MaxMara and Kipling, to luxury hospitality chains such as Shangri-la Hotels, Tonino Lamborghini Hotels, and LUX* Resorts.

Daniel has been featured in various media publications, including Architectural Digest, Surface, SmartShanghai, Car and Driver, That’s Shanghai, Expat Startup, and City Weekend.

Daniel graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Massachusetts Amherst with a BSc in Environmental Design, and was the recipient of a Fulbright Fellowship. He speaks English, Cantonese, and Mandarin. Daniel spends his free time playing with his rescue dog and making pasta from scratch.
My Linh MAC
My Linh Mac is an award-winning Visual Designer, Multimedia Artist and Educator based in Chicago. With her strong background in both digital and fine art, her work encompasses a range of emotional aesthetics, from conceptual with storytelling to commercial with high-end visual effects.

As a Visual Designer, Mac is passionate about helping artists and creative organizations establish their creative business and market their brands with her specialties in digital illustration, graphic and web design. Through her previous position as Media and Marketing Director at En Foco Gallery, Mac promoted internationally recognized artists at international high-end art fairs like SCOPE and Art Basel. As an emerging artist, Mac’s fine art works were exhibited at galleries, museums and private collections in the US, Canada, Australia, South Korea and Hong Kong. Extending her established art career, Mac also teaches and nurtures young graphic designers and artists at the School of Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) and Chicago Public Schools as Art Educator.

Mac graduated from Valparaiso University with a Bachelor Degree in Fine Art and Communication-Graphic Design and from School of Art Institute of Chicago with a Master Degree in Art Education.
Amyn NASSER
Amyn Nasser is a critically acclaimed photographer of international fashion, architecture, and erotica. For more than 30 years, he has traveled the world photographing celebrities and other prominent figures, shooting major advertising campaigns and national landmark architecture.

Originally from New Zealand, Michael set up the country’s largest online dining guide (Menus.co.nz) and Australasia’s most visited movie publication (Flicks.com.au), before he came to the UK, just over ten years ago.

In 2009, Michael founded award-winning agency Impero as an innovative, risk-taking creative agency. It was created to do one thing, return tired brands to ‘Fame & Glory’. First founded in London, Impero has now expanded into Latin America with a second office in Buenos Aires.

Over ten years, Impero has built a reputation for delivering engaging and result-driven campaigns for brands such as General Mills, Havana Club Rum, Danone, MoneySuperMarket, 7UP, UGG and West Midlands Trains.
Melissa JONES
Melissa Jones is the CEO and Creative Director of DTE Studio, a creative consultancy and design studio with a strategic focus on branding, creative and digital. Melissa founded DTE Studio in 2008, an award-winning agency that re-defines and transcends traditional models of image-making. Standing as an experienced partner to brands and utilizing a blend of creative and strategic vision, DTE Studio offers impactful, expressive solutions across digital, film, print, product, content and brand design. With over 15 years of experience in user-engagement and visual communication, Melissa has contributed to more than 500M in revenue for her clients, developing and leading internal and on-site creative teams across luxury, lifestyle, fashion, beauty and entertainment. Melissa is also the Editor-in-Chief for Masthead, an online platform published in collaboration with artists, celebrities and influencers. Masthead features contributors including Cher, Sia, Phoebe Tonkin, Tilda Swinton, David Byrne, Lil Miquela and many more.
Octavia J GILMORE
Octavia J Gilmore is the Founder and Chief Creative Officer of Atlanta based Creative Juice, an award-winning creative agency. Originally from New Jersey, Gilmore was first introduced to graphic design at the young age of 14, where she knew one day she would start her own agency. Gilmore obtained a BFA in graphic design from the Savannah College of Art and Design, Atlanta. At the age of 23, Gilmore took the leap of faith and launched Creative Juice in 2013. Gilmore is proud to run a millennial, minority, female-owned agency.

Gilmore is very passionate about giving back and paying it forward. Through her partnership with Atlanta Public schools, Creative Juice allows students to gain the real world experience of working in a creative business environment. Gilmore is currently on the advisory board of Next Generation Men and Women, a nonprofit that exposes students to self-exploration, different career options as well as helping them prepare for college.

Gilmore has been awarded several honors throughout her career. Her awards from 2018 include the Power 30 Under 30 Award, the Savannah College of Art & Design Emerging Alumna, and graduating from Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses. In 2019, Gilmore graduated from the Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Cultivating Hispanic Leadership Institute and the Tuck School Of Business Strategic and Leadership Institute. She was also featured as 7 Atlanta Influencers on Our Radar in the Atlanta Tribune Magazine. When Octavia is not girl bossing or speaking at events, she is traveling, eating at a local restaurant, reading a book, or spending time with friends and family.
Michael OLAYE
As CGO of International for NoA, Michael is responsible for leading the groups continued expansion into new international client oversees, including supporting NoA’s collaboration ethics, industry thought leadership. Michael also is Chairman of SharpEnd, an “Internet Of Things” specialist agency located in London.

For the past 21 years he’s worked as a creative technologist, technical director, CTO and CEO at Dare, OLIVER, Hyperlink-Interactive, BBC, Radley Yeldar, U-dox, Creative Partnership and Havas. Before his current role, Michael was the CEO and CTO at Dare and OLIVER respectively from 2016.

He’s been honored in the Financial Times Top 100 BAME influencer 2018, The Drum’s Digerati 100, UK’s BIMA 100 most influencers and a guest speaker at various creative and digital events.

In his spare time Michael mentors at the School of Arts and Communications 2.0 in London helping up and coming industry candidates and supports local communities in London and Sweden as a speaker, supporter and advisor.
Shangning WANG
Shangning Wang is a New York based Art Director and Graphic Designer. He is currently act as Visual Communication Specialist in Unicef. He focuses on infographic, illustration, branding design, commercial art, and poster design. He also sits on the judge position for a number of international design contests. Such as International Reggae Poster Contest 2017-2018, Muse Creative Awards 2016-2019, Segunda Llamada Environmental Poster Competition 2018, 2nd International Poster Competition by Graphic Stories Cyprus 2018, GlobalTrend Awards 2017-2018, The Rookies 2017, Poster for Tomorrow 2017, Vega Digital Awards 2016-2018, Posterheros 2017, AD Stars 2018-2019, and etc.

In past few years, he received many global exposure and awards for his work. His design works were exhibited in many countries around the world. In addition, his works have been published in many international design books, magazines and blogs.

“To hear courteously, to answer wisely, to consider soberly and to decide impartially.” is what describes Shangning appropriately as a design judge. He always believes good design can change the world with passion, dream, and love!
Stella GUAN
Stella Guan is an award-winning visual designer and founder with experience spanning across multiple disciplines and industries. She has held leading design positions with marketing agencies, advertising agencies, technology companies and global financial services firms. In 2019, Stella founded Path Unbound, a company that provides international artists with career advancement and immigration resources. Her company’s mission is to help immigrant artists advance in their careers and change the stereotype of the “starving artists” by providing business training to creatives.

Stella is a winner of the A’ Design Award, American Web Design Award, CSS Design Awards, Summit Creative Awards, Davey Award and W3 Award. Stella is a member of the Academy of Interactive & Visual Arts and the International Association of Designers. She also served as a judge for numerous international design awards.
Pancho GONZALEZ
Pancho González studied advertising at the Universidad de Santiago in Chile and coursed an MBA at the Berlin School in Steinbeis University, Germany. He has worked in the best Chilean advertising agencies and currently is Chief Creative Officer at Inbrax Chile; Director at Achap (Chilean Advertising Association) and Director & VP at IAB.

He seats as a juror on major worldwide advertising festivals, including Cannes, Clio Awards, The New York Festivals, Art Director’s Club, among many others, and was the first Chilean to chair the jury of AME Awards in New York and teaching at Miami Ad School.

So far, he received more than 100 national and international awards. Recently nominated in the Top 25 Worldwide CCO and Worldwide Top 100 Influencer by Creativepool 2017-2018, London; Adlatina ranked his agency Chilean Top Ten at Crema 2014 and it was located at 7th place in WINA Festival 2016; Top One Creative Director, Top 10 ECD and Top 10 Creative Agency at Bestadsontv.com 2017; Top one worldwide CCO jury at TheNextGag 2017 and nominated MKTG BEST 2018 as Chief Creative Director in Chile.
Yuki WU
Yuxuan Wu is a product/visual designer, with an enthusiasm and passion in building technical products, solving problems and most important of all – creating experiences for users that improves their satisfaction by improvising accessibility, usability, and efficiency of user’s interaction with the interface. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams with integrity and consistency.

She works in Silicon Valley in 4+years. Known professional in visual design, such as typography, graphic design, illustration, motion and interaction.

She held several individual exhibitions and group exhibitions in NYC from 2014-2015.

Yuxuan Wu won international design awards, such as A design award, AADA-Adobe Design Achievement Awards,GDUSA Award,How International Design Award, and Red dot communication design from 2013-2015. She also was a jury of A design award and Creativity international award in 2019.
Tien-Min LIAO
Tien-Min Liao is a New York-based type designer specializing in brand typography and multi-script letterforms.

She studied typeface design at The Cooper Union. She has designed custom typefaces for Fortune 100 companies and worked on various logotype projects from consumer brands to global organizations, including CVS, Birchbox, Wyndham, Verizon, Resideo, Hungryroot, USP, Ørsted, etc. She has worked with Wieden+Kennedy, Pentagram, Siegel+Gale, Prophet, Kontrapunkt, Medium, Elmwood and TDC.

Her work has been recognized by the Type Directors Club, Tokyo TDC, RedDot Award, Communication Arts, and has been published in numerous design annuals, magazines and publications. She is named one of the Ascenders 2018 by the Type Directors Club.
Ronn LEE
Ronn is the Founding Partner and Creative Director of BEAMY, a branding and cross disciplinary design outfit headquartered in Shanghai, with offices in Singapore and New York. She is also the Founder and Creative Director of Pulp Nation, a paper label which specializes in creative and innovative paper based products and also independent book publishing. Ronn possesses 20 years of knowledge and expertise in leading concept, branding, graphic design, interactive and product ideation projects across different industry sectors.

A fearless pioneer, she moved from Singapore to Shanghai to work in advertising and branding agencies, and eventually co-founded BEAMY, after discovering China’s burgeoning market potential for branding and creative services. Prior to Shanghai, Ronn worked as an Art Director in Tokyo. Her experience in Singapore, Japan and China has exposed her to vastly different working cultures, creative and design sensibilities.

Till date, her works have garnered over 70 recognition internationally, including prestigious international design and creative awards like Red Dot Design Award, iF Design Award, Transform Awards, and Graphis Award. Ronn is also on the jury panel alongside some of the industry’s greats in a number of international award shows.
Sonja HALLER
Sonja Haller is co-founder of Haller Brun, an Amsterdam-based graphic design studio which she runs together with Pascal Brun. They mainly work in the fields of art, culture and design. Today the studio enjoys a reputation for refined book and identity design – several of their projects have won prestigious awards.

Originally from Switzerland, the work of Haller Brun is characterised by a combination of the Swiss tradition for precision and typography with Dutch directness and playfulness. It is rooted in a deep understanding of its content and based on an appropriate and strong concept. Their visual solutions are clear and effective and always refined and carefully crafted.

Recently Haller Brun was responsible for the design of the visual identity and publication for The Measurement of Presence, the Dutch entry to the 58th Venice Biennale 2019.
Anders BERGESEN
Anders Bergesen is a Norwegian illustrator, designer and art director, who lives and works in Stuttgart, Germany. He has studied design in Oslo, San Jose and Stuttgart. After graduation from the Stuttgart State Academy of Art and Design in 2005, he joined for Strichpunkt Design and worked mainly on projects for Staatstheater Stuttgart, winning numerous design awards.

In 2010 he co-founded Superultraplus Designstudio which works for a wide range of clients such as The National Library of Norway, Hugo Boss, Hager Group and various publishing houses. The main emphasis of Anders´ work is on book design and book covers.

He also teaches typography at the Stuttgart State Academy of Art and Design, and in 2018 he was a member of the D&AD Awards Book Design jury.

Mr. Zhou focuses on architecture, visual communication, spatial, product design, art, photography and other fields. Zhou’s work has been published and exhibited globally, such as United States, Japan, Germany, British, Brazil, China, South Africa, India, Bulgaria, Hong Kong, Singapore, Austria, Chile, South Korea, Slovenia, Thailand, Argentina, France and Switzerland.
Robin MILGRIM
Robin got her start in the worlds of fashion and art and has held positions in top agencies as Art Director/Creative Director developing a number of renowned campaigns. Her work has been recognized by Graphis, Lüerzers Archive, Adweek, AdAge, The New York Times, GLAAD, The One Snow, Addys and more. Her penchant for merging the offbeat with visual narratives has lead to work that stands out in respective categories — whether it’s arts and entertainment, causes, packaged goods, utilities, government affairs, tourism, tech, automotive or fashion and beauty. She’s led a variety of projects from 360° campaigns and branding, UX/UI, broadcast, social and more. She’s passionate about the stories that shape our world and challenging conventions to uncover unexpected solutions. She studied at Savannah College of Art and Design and is a graduate of the Miami Ad School.
Ashwini DESHPANDE
A 1989 graduate of National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad, Ashwini is the co-founder of Elephant*, India’s largest independent integrated design consultancy with offices in India & Singapore.

She has done award-winning work for global brands in diverse segments. Some of the awards include Global ReBrand 100 (USA), Worldstar (Germany), & Asiastar (Singapore) for Packaging Excellence, A’Design Awards (Italy) and Best of the Best at CII Design Excellence.

Ashwini was invited by Rockefeller Foundation to participate in Global Social Impact workshop and by Danish Design Association to form the Copenhagen Co-creation Manifesto. She has lectured across more than 20 countries including ICOGRADA Design Week, Business of Design Week and International Design Congress.

She has been jury at Cannes Lions (France), Global ReBrand 100 (USA), The One Club – Young Guns 16 (USA), Spikes Asia (Singapore), Design for Asia (HK), Kyiv IAF (Ukrain), International A’Design Awards (Italy), Design for Change (India) & Kyoorius Design Awards (India). At the upcoming D&AD Awards 2019 in London, Ashwini will be Jury President.

As a key member of The Design Alliance Asia consortium, she has edited Colours of Asia book published in Hong Kong that was awarded Design for Asia Special Culture Award by the Hong Kong government.

Impact magazine has recognized Ashwini among 50 Most Influential Women in Media for four consecutive years. She received Amrutwel Foundation’s SuperWoman 2017 Award from Mayor of Pune city and Leader of the Decade Award at the Women Economic Forum in Delhi in 2017.

Ashwini mentors start-ups through “Nurture” initiative of TiE and from the advisory board of Indian Institute of Management CIIE programme. She is also mentor to the Vedica Scholars Programme. She is on the Advisory Board of School of Design, Pearl Academy.

At the first India edition of Lexus Design Awards, Elephant was declared as Design House Of The Year in February 2018.
Gustavo GRECO
Gustavo Greco is the Founder and Creative Director of Greco Design, specializing in visual identity, signage and editorial projects. The company positions its work as a daily and continuous effort of sharing, renovation and re-signification through meaningful projects that utilize information as the main input.

In a short period of time Greco has become one of the most awarded design companies in Brazil. In only the past three years we can cite: Design Lions of the Cannes Festival, D&AD, Grand Prix at Red Dot Design Award, Gold at iF Communication Award, London International Awards and Award and Honorable Mention in the Bienal Iberoamericana de Diseño. Greco has been selected for the Bienal Nacional de Design Gráfico (ADG Brasil) at every edition since 2000.

Gustavo is also active as an academic, teaching in the Brand Management Post-Baccalaureate program at IEC – Instituto de Educação Continuada PUC MG. He also dedicates himself to design diffusion initiatives throughout Brazilian society as the Vice President of the Brazilian Association of Design Companies – ABEDESIGN. He participates as a frequent juror at major design festivals abroad representing Brazil in the international juries.
