The Abdullatif Al Fozan Award for Mosque Architecture, which was launched in October 2012, is conceived to become an international platform that raises awareness on the contemporary architecture of the mosque. It will bring attention to best practices relating to the design, construction, and upkeep of mosques. The initial 2013 cycle of the Award addresses mosques built in Saudi Arabia since 1970. Future cycles of the biannual Award will address built mosques throughout the world.
