Superscape 2018: Population growth, increasing urbanisation and social change pose new challenges for architecture and urban planning. Reflecting these processes of change, Superscape opens a creative space for unconventional ideas meant to deliver new impulses to real-life architectural output and urban development. The biannual prize seeks to encourage innovative and visionary architectural concepts exploring new models of living and strategies for inhabiting an urban context over a broad expanse of 30 years.

The Lighthouse: The Lighthouse competition involves the design of an un-manned structure with a light-source to act as a focal point for the area. The structure may be constructed from any material, and innovation is and unusual formal expression is encouraged. The only requirement is that the light-source is accessible for maintenance. The 'Lighthouse' should be positioned anywhere along Geroskipou Beach in Paphos, Cyprus.

Lanzarote Dynamic Square: reTH!NKING team is delighted to introduce the new competition: Lanzarote Dynamic Square. The competition consists of the realization of a project that provides the city of Arrecife with an open space for the people. The main objective of this project is to turn El Almacén square into an urban point of culture and social encounter.

Iceland Northern Lights Rooms: Participants for this competition are tasked with designing a guest house experience that allows visitors to watch the splendor of the Northern Lights directly from the comfort of their own beds.

DWELL – MUMBAI MIXED HOUSING: arch out loud challenges competition entrants to design a mixed dwelling development on one of the last undeveloped sections of Mumbai’s coastline. Entrants will design for both the indigenous fishing community that has occupied the site for hundreds of years - as well as a new demographic drawn to the affluent neighborhood that now encompasses the site. Proposals should identify architectural and planning solutions that support integration between these socio-economically distinct communities.
